Volleyball Recap: Hanahan Takes a Loss

If Hanahan was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Bishop England on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawks lost 3-0 to the Lucy Beckham Bengals on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hawks have suffered since October 24, 2024.

While Hanahan ultimately came up short, they really made Lucy Beckham work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-20, 25-16.

Among those leading the charge was Adam Rasgo, who had 14 assists and three aces. He is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 14 or more in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season.

Hanahan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Hanahan will venture away from home to take on Fort Dorchester at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lucy Beckham, they will be playing at home against Socastee at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Braves have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
