Softball Game Preview: Berkner Rams vs. MacArthur Cardinals

The Berkner Rams will head out to take on the MacArthur Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berkner has given up an average of 12.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Berkner's offense. They lost 17-0 to Pearce on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, MacArthur came up short against Nimitz on Friday and fell 23-19. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (13), the Cardinals still had to take the loss.

MacArthur dropped their record down to 1-10-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.7 runs over those games. As for Berkner, their loss dropped their record down to 3-16.

Berkner came out on top in a nail-biter against MacArthur when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 11-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for Berkner since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
