Baseball Recap: Tri-Central Trojans vs. Tipton Blue Devils

Tri-Central was the 7-3 winner over Tipton when they last played one another back in May of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Tri-Central Trojans fell 7-3 to the Tipton Blue Devils on Monday. Tri-Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nate Cherry was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Cherry was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last three games he's played.

Cherry wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brody Arnold, who went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

On Tipton's side, the team relied heavily on Nick Nasser, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Pablo Paredes-Lopez, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Tri-Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-7-1. As for Tipton, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-14.

Tri-Central will be playing at home against Clinton Prairie at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tipton, they will head out on the road to take on Sheridan at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
