Softball Recap: Freeman Drops Highest Score of Season Against Highland Springs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Prince George, Freeman was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Highland Springs Springers 15-8. The Mavericks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kayleigh Perks was a standout: she fired off three stolen bases, four runs, and four doubles while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Perks, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Freeman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .463. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Freeman's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Highland Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Freeman will take on Maggie Walker at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Highland Springs, they will challenge Henrico at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
