Basketball Recap: Eagle Valley Skates Past Battle Mountain with Ease

Eagle Valley waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed past the Battle Mountain Huskies to the tune of 87-48. The Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 24 points or more this season.

Eagle Valley had a senior duo take command as Dylan Zoller went 8-for-12 on his way to 25 points and three steals and Jonah Medina went 7-for-11 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Zoller now owns an excellent 45.4% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Brian Fontana, who posted eight points and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Battle Mountain lost, don't look at Jackson Wansley. Despite the final result, he put up 15 points. Wansley continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Strauch, who had six points.

Eagle Valley's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Battle Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-14.

Eagle Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-63 victory against Roaring Fork on the 22nd. As for Battle Mountain, they have also already played their next matchup, a 50-48 win against Cedaredge on the 22nd.
