Baseball Recap: Andrean Comes Up Short

If Andrean was riding high fresh off their 25-7 takedown of Hammond Morton on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fighting 59ers fell 9-4 to the St. Laurence Vikings on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fighting 59ers of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Andrean's loss dropped their record down to 26-3. As for St. Laurence, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 30-5.

Looking ahead, Andrean will square off against River Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Fighting 59ers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ingots have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. St. Laurence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
