Naugatuck Valley - Brass recap October 22, 2013

Adding to the longest winning streak in Naugatuck Valley - Brass this week, Ansonia beat Masuk 56-21. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Chargers.

Watertown lost to New Milford 55-11 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dan Desaulniers was a bright spot for the Indians, as he ran for 63 yards in the loss.

Michael Marshall threw for 223 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 11-25 with 2 interceptions.

Arkeel Newsome provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Ansonia beat the Panthers. Newsome's key target this week was Tajik Bagley, who caught 3 passes for 98 yards.

Newsome was a beast in the backfield as Thomas Brockett's team bested Masuk.

Marshall put up the best numbers through the air as Crosby topped Immaculate. Marshall's favorite target this week was Michael Reyes, who caught 3 passes for 96 yards.

Wolcott's Vincient Gambino and Jayson Matos have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Gambino has thrown for 1,473 yards this season, while Matos has 33 catches for 578 yards. The Chargers' Newsome leads the league in rushing yards with 1,575.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Ansonia takes on second place Wolcott. Ansonia defeated Dave Brennan's team last week, while the Eagles lost to Newtown.

The league will see a high scoring game when Wolcott and the Chargers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Jason Pace's team comes in having scored 249 this season, while Ansonia has scored 333. The Eagles scored 14 points last week as they fell to the Nighthawks.

The Chargers led Naugatuck Valley - Brass in scoring this week by notching 56 points on the Panthers. Newsome ran for 391 yards in the win.
