Basketball Game Preview: Salt Fork Storm vs. Oakwood Comets

Salt Fork has won eight straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Oakwood has won eight straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Salt Fork Storm will welcome the Oakwood Comets at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are at an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but likely not for long.

Last Friday, Salt Fork earned a 43-32 victory over Watseka. The win continues a trend for the Storm in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Oakwood ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Iroquois West, sneaking past 52-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Comets have posted since February 3, 2024.

Oakwood is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.9 points over those games. As for Salt Fork, their win bumped their record up to 17-7.

Salt Fork didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Oakwood in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 43-39 victory.
