Softball Game Preview: Airport Eagles vs. Gilbert Indians

The Airport Eagles will take on the Gilbert Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Airport is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Airport's offense. They came up short against North Augusta on Thursday, falling 11-0.

Meanwhile, Gilbert waltzed into their match on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Mustangs. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by exactly five runs.

Gilbert pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Airport, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
