Softball Recap: Bell Gardens Victorious

While Bell Gardens's win against Montebello wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lancers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Oilers on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Oilers: they've now won four in a row.

Gabriella Alvarado made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Alvarado was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Nayeli Gomez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Bell Gardens' victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Montebello, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.
