Baseball Recap: Wallington Find Success

Wallington won against Bergen Charter on Friday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Panthers beat Bergen Charter by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-2. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with Bergen Charter: they've now won seven in a row.

Eddie Tanderis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Wallington is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jordan Kassteen, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Wallington is undefeated when Kassteen posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dominic Vicente, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Wallington's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Bergen Charter, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Looking ahead, Wallington will welcome Lodi at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bergen Charter, they will venture away from home to challenge Harrison at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bergen Charter are facing the Blue Tide at the right time seeing as the Blue Tide are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
