Basketball Game Preview: East Carteret Mariners vs. Epiphany Falcons

The East Carteret Mariners will venture away from home to take on the Epiphany Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. East Carteret is looking for their season's first win.

On Saturday, East Carteret lost to Ocracoke at home by a 55-41 margin.

Meanwhile, Epiphany came up short against Liberty Christian Academy on Friday and fell 66-53. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while the Heat are ranked 130th).

East Carteret's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Epiphany, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

East Carteret strolled past Epiphany in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 79-60. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Epiphany's Thomas Lathan, who posted 29 points.
