Softball Game Preview: Hoosick Falls Panthers vs. Berlin/New Lebanon Mountain Lions

The Hoosick Falls Panthers will square off against the Berlin/New Lebanon Mountain Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hoosick Falls has three straight victories, Berlin/New Lebanon has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Hoosick Falls will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Mechanicville, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Panthers put the hurt on the Red Raiders with a sharp 9-1 win on Friday. Fans of the Panthers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Meanwhile, Berlin/New Lebanon had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 8-0 to Lansingburgh.

Hoosick Falls pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Berlin/New Lebanon, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
