Basketball Recap: Mcfarland Skates Past Delano with Ease

McFarland won the last time they faced Delano and things went their way on Tuesday too. The McFarland Cougars breezed by the Delano Tigers to the tune of 82-47. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 34 points or more this season.

When it comes to explaining why Delano lost, don't look at Jotham Amodo. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points. Another player making a difference was Marcos De Ocampo, who earned eight points.

McFarland is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points per game. As for Delano, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-10 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the McFarland Cougars take on the Wasco Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on January 21st. As for Delano, they will challenge Taft at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Taft knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Delano likes a good challenge.
