Baseball Game Preview: Morningside Monarchs vs. Beverly Hills Normans

Morningside is 0-6 against Beverly Hills since March of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Monarchs will welcome the Normans at 3:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Morningside is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 15th straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Leuzinger, falling 31-1.

Edison Macias made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Meanwhile, Beverly Hills fell victim to Culver City and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 16-0 to the Centaurs. The defeat continues a trend for the Normans in their meetings with the Centaurs: they've now lost six in a row.

Beverly Hills also got a good showing from Johnathan Olsen, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Beverly Hills' loss dropped their record down to 5-10-1. As for Morningside, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-16.

Morningside's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's match. The Monarchs have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Beverly Hills, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Morningside continue to outrun the ball?

Morningside suffered a grim 20-1 defeat to Beverly Hills when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Monarchs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
