Soccer Game Preview: Sam Houston vs. South Grand Prairie

Sam Houston hasn't had much luck against South Grand Prairie recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Sam Houston Texans are taking a road trip to face off against the South Grand Prairie Warriors at 6:00 p.m.

South Grand Prairie better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Sam Houston really get things going. Sam Houston never let Seguin onto the board and left with a 3-0 win on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, South Grand Prairie and Grapevine finished up their match with a 0-0 draw on Friday.

Sam Houston is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four games. South Grand Prairie's draw gives them a new season record of 1-1-2.

Sam Houston might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from South Grand Prairie when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Sam Houston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
