Manchester strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Powhatan Indians 55-0. The Lancers pushed the score to 48-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Indians had no chance of recovering from.

It was another big night for Dior Barnes, who rushed for 97 yards and three scores on only seven carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Abernethy, who threw for 190 yards and one TD on only 18 passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Manchester was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 234 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Manchester didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Gavin Glasco, Tristan Bowers, and Jeremiah Blakney picked up one apiece.

Manchester's record now sits at 8-0. As for Powhatan, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Manchester will square off against Richmond High School for the Arts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 46.86 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Powhatan, they will challenge Clover Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
