Football Recap: Delta's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Delta can now relate to. The game between the Saints and the Mira Loma Matadors didn't end well, with the Saints falling 48-34. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (32), the Saints still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Delta lost on Friday, don't look at Chase Parkinson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 78 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 131 yards and one TD.

Deangelo Keys continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mira Loma, rushing for 111 yards and three scores on only ten carries, while also throwing for 143 yards on only ten passes. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Keys a new career-high. A healthy portion of Keys' aerial production (109 yards to be exact) went to Keion Kado.

Delta moved to 8-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Mira Loma, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Delta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mira Loma, they will challenge Foresthill at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Matadors 10.8, the Wildfires 11) so any points scored will be well earned.
