Recap: Notre Dame (SO) Knights vs. Alemany Warriors
The Notre Dame (SO) Knights''s three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They blew past Alemany 42-6 at home. The result was nothing new for Notre Dame (SO), who have now won five contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Notre Dame (SO) got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Steele Pizzella out in front who rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 87 yards and three touchdowns. Pizzella is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Jimmy Monte was another key contributor, rushing for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Alemany's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nigel Epperson, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Notre Dame (SO) now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Alemany, their loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notre Dame (SO) will face off against Bishop Amat at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Bishop Amat is ranked 38th, while Notre Dame (SO) is ranked 49th). As for Alemany, they will head out on the road to face off against Serra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
