League recap: Palacios overpowering for Lely in past week

5A District 14 league recap: 3/27/13

Lely's Jesus Palacios was the best pitcher in 5A District 14 this week. He won one game and struck out ten batters.

The Trojans had a successful week, as they won three total games to lead the league. Lely beat Lehigh 6-0 and Evangelical Christian 7-4.

Estero's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only two hits and two walks, both of which led the league.

There were 12 hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. Leading the pack was Natrone Means, who hit .750 by going 3-for-4.

The most RBI in the league this week belonged to the Trojans' David Oliger, who drove in five. For the year, he has racked up 12 RBIs, good for fourth in the league.



Immokalee's Adrian Nunez threw six shutout innings in an 11-0 win over Golden Gate on Tuesday. He pitched six scoreless innings and struck out ten, while giving up one hit.
