Volleyball Game Preview: Orcutt Academy Spartans vs. Nipomo Titans

For the first time this season, Orcutt Academy will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on the Nipomo Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Orcutt Academy will be strutting in after a win while Nipomo will be coming in after a defeat.

Orcutt Academy extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Charlie Stewart. Orcutt Academy blew past Templeton 3-0 on Thursday with plenty of help from Stewart, who had 30 digs and two assists. That's the most assists he has posted over his last five matches.

The victory didn't come easy: Templeton scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, 28-26.

Meanwhile, Nipomo lost 3-0 to Arroyo Grande on Friday. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-16, 25-20.

Orcutt Academy's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Nipomo, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

Orcutt Academy beat Nipomo 2-0 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Does Orcutt Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Nipomo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
