Basketball Recap: Hull Comes Up Short

Hull was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 74-58 fall against the Avon Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 81-35 back in December of 2024.

Avon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Thomas Edwards out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. The match was Edwards' 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nyisah Miranda, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 assists.

Hull's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Avon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Hull won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Blue Hills RVT at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Blue Hills RVT will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Hull surely won't give up without a fight. As for Avon, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Holbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Avon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.1 points per game this season.
