Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thomas Stone to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryce Harvey, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Ahmad Thames, who posted nine points in addition to eight boards and six blocks.
Thomas Stone was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lackey. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Chargers are ranked 64th).
Thomas Stone will have to contain Darius Kemper as he made an impact in Westlake's last game. He went 6 of 10 on his way to 18 points. Kemper is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Waylin Duhon, Jr., who put up eight points and five rebounds.
Thomas Stone's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Westlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Thomas Stone has been crazy accurate this season, having made 55% of their shots per game. It's a different story for Westlake, though, as they've only made 32.1% of their field goals this season. Given Thomas Stone's sizable advantage in that area, Westlake will need to find a way to close that gap.
