Soccer Game Preview: Warden vs. Okanogan

The Warden Cougars will take on the Okanogan Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warden has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight defeats, while Okanogan will come in with six straight wins.

Warden came up short against Wahluke on Saturday, falling 7-1. While losing is never fun, Warden can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Wahluke are ranked 82nd).

Meanwhile, Okanogan kept a clean sheet against Tonasket last Friday. They blew past the Tigers 4-0. Okanogan might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by four goals or more this season.

Okanogan pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four games. As for Warden, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Warden couldn't quite get it done against Okanogan in their previous matchup back in April of 2021 as they fell 4-2. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
