Baseball Game Preview: Chapel Hill Red Devils vs. Jefferson Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Chapel Hill will face off against Jefferson. The Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chapel Hill hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Chapel Hill took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Jefferson get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Red Devils as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

For Jefferson's part, Adam Boehler was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest hits Boehler has allowed since back in March.

Chapel Hill's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-6. As for Jefferson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14-1 record this season.
