Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Godby). They blew past the Gadsden County Jaguars 21-1 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won four in a row.

Jaylen Roque made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Godby is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 0-6 otherwise. Roque was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Godby got a massive performance out of Israel Williams, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-4. Williams is becoming a predictor of Godby's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Edwin Ramirez, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-2.

Godby always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .718. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-7. As for Gadsden County, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Godby Cougars duke it out with St. John Paul II Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gadsden County, they will host Crossroad Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gadsden County is facing Crossroad Academy at the right time seeing as Crossroad Academy is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
