After flying high against Smoky Hill on Friday, Montezuma-Cortez came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Glenwood Springs Demons by a score of 18-17 on Friday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Michael Krupa put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Montezuma-Cortez got a massive performance out of Cory Carver, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-6. Darren Daves was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances.

Montezuma-Cortez's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Glenwood Springs, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
