The Deer Creek Antlers are taking a road trip to square off against the Moore Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Deer Creek nor Moore posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.
While Deer Creek's victory against Edmond North wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Antlers pulled ahead with a 13-12 photo finish over the Huskies on Friday. The Antlers haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Deer Creek didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rebel Knowles and Ryan Kiel. Kiel got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Moore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt an 81-6 defeat at the hands of Bixby. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 63-6.
Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Landis Greene, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Deer Creek's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Moore, they now also have a losing record of 2-3.
