Recap: Tri County Trojans vs. Sacred Heart Irish
The Tri County Trojans won the last time they faced the Sacred Heart Irish, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Tri County blew past Sacred Heart 63-26 at home. With Tri County ahead 30-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Tri County was led to victory by Drew Siems and Caden Bales. Siems scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Bales dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Siems also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Tayden Gronemeyer, who scored ten points.
Tri County's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Sacred Heart, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-1.
Tri County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Exeter-Milligan/Friend on January 2, 2024. Exeter-Milligan/Friend will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Tri County is ranked 31st). Sacred Heart will be home for the holidays to greet Elmwood-Murdock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
