Basketball Recap: Crystal City Piles Up the Points Against Dilley

Crystal City won the last time they faced Dilley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Crystal City Javelinas claimed a resounding 51-6 win over the Dilley Wolves. That 45 point margin sets a new team best for the Javelinas this season.

Crystal City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Izabela Tapia, who posted seven points along with 12 boards and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Tapia a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anayeli Luna, who had six points in addition to eight steals and five boards.

Crystal City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive contests.

Crystal City now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Dilley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Crystal City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-34 win against Poteet on the 20th. As for Dilley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-4 loss against Natalia on the 20th.
