Volleyball Recap: Texas Wind vs. Providence Prep Rams
Texas Wind lost against Providence Prep back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Texas Wind fell just short of Providence Prep by a score of 3-2. While Texas Wind didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Providence Prep 25-15 in the first set.
Texas Wind actually scored more points across those five sets (106-104), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 22-25, 27-25, 25-20, 15-11.
Their offense was headlined by Hayleigh Hughes and Whitley Shows, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Makayla Harvey and her 22 assists. Hughes was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.
This is the second loss in a row for Texas Wind and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Providence Prep, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Texas Wind wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Stephenville FAITH on the 18th. As for Providence Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against San Marcos Academy on the 16th.
