Recap: West Rebels vs. William Blount Governors
Sadly, the West Rebels are still looking for their first win of the season after 18 contests. They took a serious blow against William Blount on Monday, falling 73-19. While losing is never fun, West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while William Blount is ranked 166th).
William Blount's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Issy Kidd, who scored nine points along with five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Natalie Etherton, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
West dropped their record down to 0-18 with that loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for William Blount, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-16.
West will head out on the road to challenge Maryville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for William Blount, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bearden at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bearden will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something William Blount surely won't give up without a fight.
