Baseball Game Preview: York County Tech Spartans vs. York Catholic Fighting Irish

The York County Tech Spartans will challenge the York Catholic Fighting Irish at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. York County Tech has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

York County Tech came up short against Biglerville on Wednesday, falling 11-4. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Canners recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

York County Tech got a good showing from Cody Wagman, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, York County Tech saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natizel Roman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Logan Cheramie also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, York Catholic entered their tilt with Littlestown on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Thunderbolts get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory.

York County Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for York Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

York County Tech skirted past York Catholic 5-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Fighting Irish have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
