Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Heide Trask). They really took it to the Dixon Bulldogs for the full four quarters, racking up an 84-47 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Titans as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Trey Cheatam had a dynamite game for Heide Trask, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of KJ Murphy, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.
Heide Trask was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.
Despite the loss, Dixon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dylan Langston went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Pauline, who posted seven points.
Heide Trask's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Dixon, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Heide Trask wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-45 loss against Richlands on the 11th. As for Dixon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-38 defeat against Topsail on the 12th.
