Basketball Game Preview: Manchester Panthers vs. Canton South Wildcats

Manchester is 0-6 against Canton South since November of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Manchester Panthers take on the Canton South Wildcats at 1:30 p.m.

Manchester is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Wednesday. They lost to Orrville on the road by a 46-29 margin.

Meanwhile, Canton South entered their tilt with Triway on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Titans 52-28. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Titans are ranked 532nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Canton South pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Manchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Manchester was dealt a bruising 47-20 loss at the hands of Canton South when the teams last played back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Manchester was down 31-11.
