Baseball Recap: Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Takes a Loss

Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chariton Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, with their most recent loss being a 8-2 defeat on June 4th.

Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Chariton, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont is set to take on their familiar foe Knoxville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Chariton will square off against rival Cardinal at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Chargers 3.6, the Comets 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
