Fairfield Central skates past Liberty with ease

Recap: Fairfield Central Griffins vs. Liberty Red Devils

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Fairfield Central Griffins walked away with it. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-7 victory over Liberty. Fairfield Central might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six contests by 28 points or more this season.

Fairfield Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from TyDarion Grier, who rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Another player making a difference was Cameron Mcmillon, who threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.

The victory (which was Fairfield Central's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Eau Claire and 3-8 Columbia (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.4% over those games). As for Liberty, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.

Fairfield Central will square off against Silver Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Silver Bluff is ranked 65th, while Fairfield Central is ranked 40th). Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
