Basketball Recap: Calumet New Tech Takes a Loss

Calumet New Tech lost against Hammond Morton back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Calumet New Tech Warriors lost 77-55 to the Hammond Morton Governors. The Warriors just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Calumet New Tech lost, don't look at Eric Allen. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points. Allen has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Javon Lawerence, who had 11 points and six boards.

LeBron Hill was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds for Hammond Morton. Hill also grabbed three steals, which is notable because Hammond Morton is 2-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 5-13 otherwise. Jordan Nix was another key player, putting up ten points.

Calumet New Tech's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Hammond Morton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.

Calumet New Tech has already played their next game (against Kankakee Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hammond Morton, they will head out to face off against Warsaw at 1:30 p.m. on February 22nd.
