Preview: Abingdon vs. Virginia
Abingdon will challenge Virginia on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Abingdon will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Last Friday, Abingdon put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They blew past Central 50-21. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Abingdon had established a 43-14 advantage.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 41 points the game before, Virginia faltered in their contest last Friday. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 7-37 punch to the gut against Chilhowie. Virginia were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-22.
The last time the two teams met, Abingdon and Virginia were almost perfectly matched up the last time the two teams met, but Abingdon suffered an agonizing 19-20 defeat. Can Abingdon avenge their loss, or is history doomed to repeat itself ? We'll soon find out.
