Baseball Recap: Acadiana Christian's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

The Lions waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Acadiana Christian Defenders a 13-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Defenders back in February, they had to take a 9-6 loss.

The Lions let Isaiah Burch and Lane Parks run wild. Burch went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Parks scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those four RBI gave Burch a new career-high. Brandon Judice was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

The Lions were getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

The Lions pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for the Defenders, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 2-1 record.

Coming up, the Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th. The Lions are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for the Defenders, they are taking a road trip to challenge the Guardians at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th.
