Basketball Recap: Frankton Eagles vs. Kokomo Wildkats
Frankton managed to keep up with Kokomo until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Frankton Eagles came up short against the Kokomo Wildkats, falling 57-35. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Wildkats are ranked 116th).
Leading Kokomo to victory were Eliana Stewart and Satyra Scott. Stewart went 6 for 10 on her way to 13 points in addition to seven steals and five boards, while Scott went 7 of 12 on her way to 16 points and five rebounds. Stewart is becoming a predictor of Kokomo's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 10-3 (and 1-2 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Amara Stroman, who posted six points.
Frankton dropped their record down to 5-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Kokomo, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
