Soccer Game Preview: Hereford vs. West Plains

The Hereford Whitefaces will head out to take on the West Plains Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Hereford has struggled recently with nine defeats in a row, while West Plains will arrive with five straight victories.

Hereford is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Canyon on Monday. Hereford fell just short of Canyon by a score of 4-3.

Meanwhile, everything went West Plains' way against Pampa on Tuesday as West Plains made off with a 5-1 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

West Plains hit Pampa with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Benjamin Williamson (2), Andrew Clavel (2), and Antonio Baca.

West Plains' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four contests. As for Hereford, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Hereford suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to West Plains in their previous matchup back in January. Can Hereford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
