While Antelope didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Kennedy Cougars with a sharp 17-3 win on Monday. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by nine runs or more this season.
Conor Grady made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Jacob Romo and Adrian Martinez did most of the damage at the plate: Romo scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Martinez scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Martinez has become a key player for Antelope: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise.
Antelope was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennedy only posted a batting average of .222.
Antelope is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. Kennedy dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
