Cary-Grove had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Niles North on Saturday. The Trojans blew past the Vikings 9-1. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Preston Walsh looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luca Vivaldelli, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Peyton Seaburg was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Cary-Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games. As for Niles North, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15-1.

Cary-Grove wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-8 defeat against Huntley on the 5th. As for Niles North, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-3 victory against Maine West on the 5th.
