Football Game Preview: Claxton Tigers vs. Portal Panthers + How To Watch

The Claxton Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Portal Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Claxton comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Friday, Claxton came up short against Savannah and fell 19-6.

Meanwhile, Portal played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Emanuel County Institute, falling 41-14. The Panthers were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Claxton will have to keep a close watch on Gideon Fulcher and Jason Crawford, a pair of players who had a big impact on Portal's prior game. Fulcher rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries, while Crawford rushed for 36 yards and one score. Fulcher got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 69 yards.

Portal's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Claxton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Claxton took a serious blow against Portal when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 35-0. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
