Football Recap: Tennyson Takes a Loss

Tennyson lost against Hayward back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tennyson Lancers fell 40-32 to the Hayward Farmers. Despite 80 more yards than the Farmers, the Lancers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Teilor Tanimo rushed for 80 yards, and also threw for 162 yards on only 12 passes. Lamont Mcdonald was his top target, rushing for 183 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also picking up 72 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Hall really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Jaydyn Irving was another key player, throwing for 140 yards and two touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes.

Tennyson now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Hayward, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Tennyson will venture away from home to square off against Mt. Eden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tennyson is facing Mt. Eden at the right time seeing as Mt. Eden is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hayward, they will square off against American Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. American Canyon has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 139 points over their last three contests.
