Baseball Game Preview: Manistee Mariners vs. Manton Rangers

The Manistee Mariners will venture away from home to challenge the Manton Rangers at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Manistee has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Manton will arrive with six straight victories.

Manistee's last matchup with Fremont could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Mariners lost 24-9 to the Packers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mariners have suffered since April 30th.

Meanwhile, Manton was able to grind out a solid win over Buckley on Thursday, taking the game 7-3.

Manton pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Manistee, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.

Manistee beat Manton 5-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mariners since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
