Marana is a perfect 4-0 against Tucson High Magnet School since November of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. It was a proper cat-fight when Marana challenged Casa Grande on Friday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 51-27 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Marana found their leader in sophomore Jeffrey Smith III, who rushed for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also picked up 43 receiving yards. Those 210 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Smith III. Another player making a difference was Colten Meyer, who threw for 230 yards and four TDs.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Marana proved: they limited Casa Grande to a paltry one yards per carry. The team can thank Justin Elder for the heroic effort on defense: he. Marana didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.2.
Marana's defense didn't let Ben Matecki, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Elder and Greg Webb, who racked up four sacks between them. Elder is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, Tucson High Magnet School didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Canyon del Oro on Friday, but they still walked away with a 28-23 victory.
Marana better keep an eye on Noah Chanez. He was instrumental in Tucson High Magnet School's win, rushing for 227 yards and one score while picking up 11.4 yards per carry.
Tucson High Magnet School didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kenzy Couch and Ezra Spivey. Tucson High Magnet School got some further help from Dominic Drow: he made 16 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Marana's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
