Baseball Recap: Masterman Takes a Loss

Masterman came into this matchup off a tough 15-run defeat last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Philadelphia Academy Charter Chargers by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday. Masterman was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Philadelphia Academy Charter apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Masterman's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2. As for Philadelphia Academy Charter, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Masterman will venture away from home to challenge Samuel Fels at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Masterman's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Philadelphia Academy Charter, they will head out to face off against Frankford at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 12.2 runs per game this season.
