Basketball Recap: Messmer Comes Up Short

Messmer lost against Living Word Lutheran back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Messmer Bishops took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves.

Delaney Winkelmann continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Living Word Lutheran, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Winkelmann is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Kaleah Alles, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards.

Messmer's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Living Word Lutheran, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Messmer will head out to challenge St. Francis at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Living Word Lutheran, they and Kenosha Christian Life will face off at 7:15 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
